In the spirit of compassion and shared responsibility during the holy month of Ramadan, YCAB Foundation partnered with VT Markets to support 100 families in East Jakarta, Indonesia through a community outreach initiative.
Held on February 27, 2026, the activity took place at Sanggar Anak Akar, a YCAB Foundation–supported community that provides a safe and inclusive space for children to learn and grow through education, arts, and life skills, while also supporting mothers through financial literacy programs.
As part of the initiative, VT Markets volunteers distributed 100 essential food staple packages containing rice, cooking oil, sugar, and other daily necessities to mothers in the community. The packages are intended to help ease daily expenses and support families as they observe Ramadan and break their fast at home.
“During Ramadan, we are reminded that meaningful impact begins with shared responsibility,” said Dandelyn Koh, Head of Global Marketing at VT Markets. “Working together with YCAB Foundation has allowed us to extend support to families during this important season, and we are truly grateful for that opportunity. We would also like to thank our partners and clients for their continued trust, which makes initiatives like this possible.”
Beyond the distribution, the event also created joyful moments for the children. They participated in fun activities such as cup percussion—creating rhythms and songs using cups, and playing Japanese rock-paper-scissors, bringing laughter and energy to the gathering. The day concluded with a warm iftar moment, reinforcing the spirit of togetherness during Ramadan.
“Through this collaboration, we hope to provide not just essential support, but also a reminder that no one stands alone, especially during Ramadan, a season rooted in compassion and shared responsibility,” added Samantha Susilo, Chief of Party at YCAB Foundation. “With partners like VT Markets, we’re able to reach vulnerable families in a timely way while continuing to strengthen their resilience and ability to move forward with greater stability.”
Representing the community, Nisa from Sanggar Anak Akar shared her appreciation. “The children had the opportunity to play together and it was really fun. Also, thank you for supporting the mothers through these food packages, which mean a lot as they break their fast with their families at home.”
Through this initiative, YCAB Foundation and VT Markets reaffirm their shared commitment to supporting communities and creating meaningful social impact.
