Through VT Goes To School, YCAB Foundation Strengthens Vocational Teachers’ Capacity through the JADIPro Training of Trainers

Posted on June 23, 2026

Teachers play a vital role in preparing young people for the workforce. Strengthening teachers’ capacity is therefore a strategic step toward creating vocational education that is relevant to industry needs and the evolving world of work.

Through the VT Goes To School (VTGTS) programme, YCAB Foundation is committed to strengthening vocational education by enhancing the capacities of teachers and students in vocational high schools. The programme provides on-site training and mentoring in schools to strengthen the vocational learning ecosystem for both teachers and students, ensuring that the learning process is more aligned with the needs of the labour market while equipping students with the competencies required for the future.

One of the curricula under the VTGTS program is JADIPro, which focuses on developing students’ digital competencies while preparing them for the workplace. The JADIPro curriculum is designed to be implemented as part of the school’s intramural curriculum. To ensure its effective implementation in schools, partner teachers first participate in the JADIPro Training of Trainers (ToT), equipping them with the knowledge and teaching skills needed to deliver the curriculum to their students.

The JADIPro Training of Trainers brought together 36 teachers from 18 partner private vocational high schools across Jakarta, Bandung, and Bali. The face-to-face training was conducted at the YCAB Foundation Office over nine training days between May 23 and June 11, 2026.

Throughout the training, teachers received comprehensive learning materials designed to support classroom implementation. These included the development of the 4C skills (Critical Thinking, Creativity, Communication, and Collaboration), professional email writing, the use of video conferencing platforms, proficiency in document, spreadsheet, and presentation software, as well as career readiness topics such as personal branding, CV and cover letter writing, job search strategies, and mock interviews.

Through the JADIPro Training of Trainers (ToT), teachers not only strengthened their professional competencies but were also equipped to effectively implement the JADIPro curriculum in their schools. The knowledge and skills gained throughout the training are expected to support more contextual, engaging, and workforce-relevant learning experiences, enabling students to benefit from more meaningful learning.

In line with YCAB Foundation’s commitment to strengthening education, the implementation of JADIPro through the VT Goes To School program is expected to create a lasting impact for both partner schools and students. By enhancing teachers’ capacity, vocational high schools are expected to better equip young people with digital competencies and the work readiness skills needed to succeed in the professional world.
