YCAB Foundation has dedicated itself to its vision: to love and enable youth through hope and opportunity. To make an impact and bring change to youth, we are welcoming volunteers to be a part of it. With various divisions and departments, YCAB offers countless opportunities for individuals, with the chance to take part in a great cause – a cause that drives change for a better future for those who are in need.
Volunteers at YCAB are offered many different things to experience working in a social enterprise. They can handle the planning, execution, and evaluation of YCAB’s events, getting donations and sponsors, research and development for YCAB’s programs, research and proposal for upcoming YCAB’s projects, teaching students in Rumah Belajar, and many more.
Jeremy Christabel of Multimedia Nusantara University is one of our former volunteers at YCAB. The adaptation process of being at YCAB was a hard challenge for Jeremy because he had to juggle between college and work. Fortunately, in less than a month, he was able to adapt to the surroundings and he was having a lot of fun working because the people at YCAB treat each other like family. “There are so many lessons that I gained and the chance to apply the knowledge that I learned in college, and I am glad to be at YCAB because I can know what the working world is like,” says Jeremy.
Another story comes from Michael Wiradharma. He is interested in the YCAB Youth Development program and finally decided to volunteer. Michael is a student at Binus Simprug School. “Having the privilege to teach these youths and seeing them race to school warms my heart. Thank you YCAB for the opportunity to work together with these inspiring individuals!” says Michael.
Last but not least, Valerie Barki from University College London. Valerie chose an internship in YCAB because she feels passionate about working in NGO in Indonesia especially about education and women empowerment through education. She joined in September 2020 and will work with YCAB until November as a general intern. She contributed as project support for the Girls4Tech program to guide and monitor the direct beneficiaries into completing the program. Valerie says, “Volunteering at YCAB has allowed me to experience first-hand how to develop a program and help run one as well as gain insight into how philanthropic work is done in Indonesia.”

More than just providing experience, our program also brings awareness to the issues surrounding the youth of Indonesia to our volunteers. With this, we hope that volunteers will be made aware of the importance of bringing change to Indonesia and that they too will come to believe in YCAB’s mission and vision. But it just doesn’t stop with the understanding and believing, it is our hope for volunteers who come to YCAB to become an ambassador of YCAB, even after their time with us. That they will continue to carry on our mission and values and become an extension of goodness.
Join us to make great things for the world!
