YCAB’s Response to Covid-19

Posted on October 2, 2020

As Covid-19 is spreading, employee safety and health is very important for YCAB in this troubling time as well as the wellbeing of our beneficiaries. An overall of approximately IDR 20.138 billion ($1.34 million) is mobilized from YCAB Foundation to communities and beneficiaries in this difficult time to ease each other’s burden.

YCAB has also launched several programs partnering up with various parties for Covid-19 relief and resilience efforts: MSME mothers, farmers, and the community through the Women & Farmer Resilience Program, YBI Covid-19 Relief & Response, as well as LightUp Indonesia. All these programs are beneficial to help our beneficiaries during this difficult time with the spread of Covid-19.

As an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 virus, YCAB provides vitamin C injections to all employees starting on Monday and Tuesday, March 30 – 31 2020 at the Cinta Anak Bangsa Clinic. Vitamin C is known to boost immune system and is beneficial for protecting the body from the spread of Covid-19. The vitamin C injections program is ongoing and we’re now at week 28. We also try to maintain social distancing as recommended by the government by scheduling injections so that not too many people gather, and giving each other distance of at least 1 meter.

As for working adjustment, YCAB adapted the adjustment on a WFH basis since March 17, 2020 as well as home learning for Rumah Belajar children. Both of these policies conform to government regulations, and for WFH we have several times readjusted to WFO with health protocols and prioritizing those who use private vehicles or online. In the office, we give each other distance of at least 1 meter, while also reducing the elevator capacity. In order to prevent the virus from coming from outside, employees are advised to bring lunch from home.

YCAB also handed over a donation of more than 100,000 personal protective equipment (PPE) for medical personnel to the Media Group Humanitarian Wallet at the Metro TV office. From head covers, shoe covers, isolation gowns, goggles, and boots was handed over to be distributed to a number of health facilities in Indonesia.

Last April, YCAB raised funds at KitaBisa.com to help ease the burden on the YCAB Ventures clients who were affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The fundraising generated IDR 63,786,675. YCAB also accepts offline donations of IDR 142,200,000. The total collected was approximately IDR 205,000,000 from online and offline donations. This donation is given in the form of online shopping vouchers. 486, 835 masks were distributed (2,000 pieces of N95 and 484,835 cloth masks), along with 50,832 hand sanitizer, and 72,310 sets of PPE, with IDR 2.97 billion total funds mobilized.

Each family of YCAB Ventures assisted mothers received a voucher of IDR 200,000. Vouchers can be exchanged for basic necessities such as: rice, oil, instant noodles, and canned food. As of June 1, 711 vouchers were distributed to YCAB Ventures assisted mothers in Muntilan, Central Java. Thank you to Behihbaik, OVO, Grab, and Tokopedia for donating food packages to YCAB Ventures assisted mothers who were affected by COVID-19.

Staying safe and healthy is important in this difficult time. May the assistance can be useful and bring blessings to all of us.
