YCAB Foundation and Mastercard held an all-virtual celebration event on December 1-14, 2021. Along with the celebration, an online campaign entitled #AkuDanSTEM is embedded with the program through YCAB Foundation’s social media channels. This event is to be celebrated with program beneficiaries, namely teachers, students, school communities and organizations, relevant stakeholders in the education sector, and the general public. This event was held in accordance with the second anniversary of Mastercard Academy and YCAB Foundation’s collaboration that has been built for 2 years in Indonesia.

The 25 days activity was divided into several interesting event segments. The #AkuDanSTEM was the first to go – an online campaign on social media that served as an informative guide regarding STEM. Not only that, #STEMSelfie challenge was added to the event – YCAB Foundation’s social media followers can send selfies related to the STEM world to win some great prizes. Second, in order to foster a good relationship between fellow program beneficiaries, they will represent their schools to compete with one another in an online Cerdas Cermat game on December 7-10, 2021. This game will be played in groups according to the level of education of the participants, each consisting of each person, and they will follow this game via WhatsApp. Then, 3 finalists from different educational levels proceeded to the final round which was held at the peak of the anniversary event in the webinar “Empowering Young Minds in Building a Better Indonesia Through STEM”.
Mastercard Girls4Tech is a collaborative program between YCAB Foundation and Mastercard supported by the Ministry of Communication and Information and the Ministry of Education and Culture and is intended for Indonesian students to develop their interests and talents in the STEM field. In addition to that, this initiative is also expected to address the gender gap in the STEM world. Since the start of this program on August 14, 2020, and starting from the province of West Java, Mastercard Girls4Tech has targeted this program for 60,000 beneficiaries and has reached 14 provinces in Indonesia.
