Denpasar, October 7th, 2017 – Angel of Change (AOC) fundraising event was held again and holds the theme “A Ball of Hope”. AOC is an initiative of YCAB Foundation and PT. Multistrada Arah Sarana, Tbk to raise funds and assist the education of Indonesian underpriviledged children through YCAB’s Rumah Belajar (Learning Center).
This year, Angel Of Change took place in Bali, due to donors are not only invited to attend the fundraising event on October 7th, 2017, but also invited to watch football tournament between Bali vs Arema Club at Kapten I Wayan Dipta Stadium, Gianyar – Bali on Sunday, October 8th, 2017.
This activity is in accordance with the spirit of football which is working and moving together for one purpose. Football which portrays togetherness and diversity becomes the inspiration for the AOC theme “A Ball of Hope” this year.
“The implementation of AOC 2017 also wants to give the spirit that through any fields, all people are able to contribute together for better education in Indonesia. One example is the involvement of Bali United players to compete while raising the awareness of education issues to the wider community. Through a game that has a good mission, it is expected that more attention and hope will be given to Indonesia young generation,” said Veronica Colondam, Founder / CEO of YCAB Foundation.
“We have been consistently implementing AOC program since 2009, AOC is a place for us to continue our support for education in Indonesia. We are grateful by having all partners of PT Multistrada Arah Sarana, Tbk who continously provides positive response until all these activities are successfully done, “said Jimmy Wiyono, General Manager of PT Multistrada Arah Sarana, Tbk.
This year, AOC supported by PT Multistrada Arah Sarana, Tbk along with around 200 donors and partners of YCAB Foundation has managed to collect donations worth Rp 1.635.000.000 (One billion six hundred thirty five million rupiah).
On this occasion, Jimmy Wiyono, General Manager of PT Multistrada Arah Sarana, Tbk. symbolically submitted the donation to Veronica Colondam, Founder / CEO of YCAB Foundation. This donation will be used to support YCAB Foundation’s educational programs. Currently YCAB Foundation has 55 Rumah Belajar (Learning Center) in Indonesia, as well as actively carrying out several programs such as Kejar Paket A, B, C, computer and English courses, and also various of additional skill courses.
“Since it was launched in 2009, Angel of Change aims to encourage individuals and corporations to invest in underprivileged youth education. Over the past eighteen years, YCAB has had an impact on 3.3 million young people. Our target is 5 million young people by 2020. The AOC initiative is one of the instrument to achieve our goal, which is education that creates self-reliance. In the future, similar initiatives which in line with the spirit of spreading the goodness (Extension of Goodness) must be continue to develop and expand the impact given to the society, “said Veronica Colondam, Founder / CEO of YCAB Foundation. AOC 2017 Fundraising Night was also attended by coach of Bali United, Widodo C. Putro, Eko Purjianto along with their players including Marcos Flores, Samsul Pelu and I Putu Pager. Regarding support from Bali United for AOC 2017, Yabes Tanuri CEO of Bali United said, “We strongly support various positive activities conducted by YCAB Foundation. This is our third program with YCAB Foundation, after previously we had ran a campaign “Bali United Goes to School” to various schools in Bali to introduce healthy lifestyle. We also work together on Rumah Belajar Bangli – Bali to provide computer literacy to the young generation. We do believe these programs will be beneficial for them not only at this moment, but also in the future “. In this AOC event, also involved some students and teachers of Rumah Belajar YCAB located in Bangli District, which is the result of cooperation with local partner named Yayasan Pasraman Guru Kula. Every year Rumah Belajar Bangli provides computer literacy to 210 children. As a form of solidarity with Mt. Agung’s current situation, AOC 2017 committee also provides donations to the refugees in the affected areas. Currently, Rumah Belajar YCAB in Bangli District is also become one of the refugee shelter for more than seventy people.
