
Rumah Belajar Batik YCAB has set its goal in creating a sustainable manner to help improve poverty. Since our first Rumah Belajar Batik launch, YCAB Foundation has established 4 Rumah Belajar Batik in Central Java; Pekalongan, Semarang, Pemalang and finally Tasikmalaya in West Java.
Here are the summary of Rumah Belajar Batik YCAB:
1. Rumah Belajar Batik Pekalongan
Rumah Belajar Batik Pekalongan was established in 2015, empowering youths in Pekalongan to be an independent batikpreneur . In addition to learning about batik, they were also taught entrepreneurship skills in hopes that after they graduate they can start their own businesses.
2. Rumah Belajar Batik Semarang
Established in 2015, Rumah Belajar Batik Semarang is a collaboration between YCAB and HSBC. This Rumah Belajar Batik provides training and is expected to be able to reduce unemployment of productive age from the underprivileged.
3. RumahBelajar Batik Samekto Karti
Rumah Belajar Batik Samekto Karti was inaugurated in late 2021, this collaborative program between YCAB and PT DOW Indonesia has created an impactful and sustainable change in the local community by providing the beneficiaries with mental disability a chance to reenter the society and thrive. Other than batik making skills, discipline, and focus were also taught to beneficiaries in order to regulate their thoughts and emotions better.
4. Rumah Belajar Batik Tasikmalaya
Rumah Belajar Batik Tasikmalaya aims to build the skills of youth in productive age in batik skills, as well as entrepreneurship to open up new job opportunities for people in Tasikmalaya. Rumah Belajar Batik Tasikmalaya provides training programs that include various batik training, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and digital literacy, to produce several qualified batikpreneurs in Tasikmalaya.
In accordance with National Batik Day, YCAB wants to celebrate that 87% of Rumah Belajar Batik participants have started their own businesses and created jobs for their community. The success of Rumah Belajar Batik is shown with More than 3,000 participants have since received financial and entrepreneurship literacy training with almost 1,000 participants benefitting from batik vocational training.
