Coach Tastemaker Tote Project: Tastes that make a change

Posted on November 22, 2013

Coach Tastemaker Tote Project Fundraising Exhibition was held on November 20, 2013 at Gaia Altitude, The Plaza Jakarta as its aspiration to support YCAB in sending more underprivileged children back to school. The project invited ten leading Indonesian style influencers to design a customized bag, namely Legacy Duffle Bag. Founder/ CEO YCAB Foundation, Veronica Colondam was one of the designers involved in the project. The ten bags were displayed, and the invited guests conducted silent bid for the displayed legacy duffle bags. The bag itself has been widely known as one of Coach’s most iconic bags. It has a rounded shape, and is made from smooth leather tanned with special color that transforms it to be colorful yet functional and elegant.

Regarding to the YCAB and Coach Tastemaker Tote Project partnership, Coach Indonesia Representative, Hitesh Bharwani explained that Coach Tastemaker project is Coach’s awareness to give back and contribute to society, “We hope through this project, more children can go back to school. In Indonesia, there is roughly three million drop out children. Therefore we invite you to bid generously for these bags, to save the three million drop out children.”

Veronica designed a legacy duffle bag with heart symbol that was inspired by YCAB’s symbol. Veronica commented on her legacy duffle bag design, “The bag is simple, however it conveys our message, about love. The heart symbol means love, and we believe that love is an important element for us to make a change.” Upon the partnership, she remarked, “YCAB is here to deliver change and giving hope to the children of our nation. This project is essential to empower underprivileged children through education provision. At minimum bidding of IDR 6 million, you would be able to send three children or more to school for a year.”
