Depok, November 2, 2015 – Since last August, DBS Foundation and the Business Center for Small Business and Micro Faculty of Economics, at the University of Indonesia (UI UKMC) invited social entrepreneurs to follow the DBS Social Entrepreneurship Boot Camp (DBS SE BootCamp). This activity was organized for social entrepreneurs in Indonesia to gain knowledge from business experts in developing their social entrepreneurial organizations. This training was given to 30 representatives of 17 social entrepreneurs spread across 14 cities in Indonesia. During the training sessions the social entrepreneurs recieved their material from the CEO of YCAB Foundation, Veronica Colondam. The training materials provided included the importance of fund raising and ability to conduct business presentations to investors, she also explained the importance of good proposals and selecting a strategic partner, as well as tips for the stability and progress of the business in order to remain successful in solving social missions.
Veronica Colondam stated “I really support the activities of the DBS SE Boot Camp, especially many practitioners of social enterprize in Indonesia are still experiencing difficulties in running and developing their business due to a lack of sustainable management abilities and capabilities in the development of the business itself. It is very important to be supported by various parties, such as DBS, who pay- special attention to the development of social entrepreneurship in Indonesia.”
“Besides, the social entrepreneurs must focus on their first mission to help and solve social problems. I believe with passion and proper knowledge of organizational management, each of these social entrepreneurs will be able to evolve and answer the challenges of the future far better” added Veronica. DBS SE Boot Camp is inline with the spirit campaign from DBS Bank that is Igniting Possibilities DBS Bank, Sparking Joy (SPARK) whose mission is to provide a forum for various opportunities and ideas such as social entrepreneurship in Indonesia. This training session will be closed in December 2015 to provide opportunities for social entrepreneurs to present their business ideas to investors and expand their business networks among proponents of Social enterprise in Indonesia.
