For 16 years, YCAB has been successful in reaching out to more than 66,000 children across Indonesia and could not have done so without its growing team of dedicated employees. The strong partnerships within the YCAB family is what allows these children to have better life options through YCAB’s three pillar programs (healthy lifestyle, education, and entrepreneurship)
These were a few of the focal messages that YCAB Founder and CEO, Veronica Colondam conveyed to all YCAB employees at the recently held Townhall Meeting last September 4, 2015, Friday. In attendance were all 703 employees from the main office, koperasi and business units.
Ms. Colondam (seen in left photo) reminded everyone that every individual at the meeting, whether they were a field officer or a manager, was key to why YCAB has been successful all these years. The commitment of every employee is what drives the programs and without their hard work and dedication, YCAB would not have educated and helped 66,000 children from 2,000 when the organization started in 1999. The expansion of its employee from a humble staff of 4 to now 703 and growing, together with its volunteers and external partners, also helped reach this number. In addition, YCAB mission has evolved from just one to now three main pillars namely Healthy Lifestyle Promotion (HeLP), House of Learning and Development (HoLD), and Hands-on Operation for Entrepreneurship (HoPE).
The Townhall’s overall mood was jubilant and festive, especially when master of ceremonies, Sulistyaning Palupijati, Hands-on Operation for Entrepreneurship (HOpE) Director, and Ms Colondam opened the meeting with YCAB’s song, reminding everyone of the organization’s core values, vision, and mission.
After Ms. Colondam’s message, the employees were broken down into groups for a quick discussion as to how the CEO’s message was applicable to their own tasks. The objective of the smaller groups was to encourage them to provide feedback to improve YCAB’s existing programs while also sharing inspiring stories from their line of work.
