Indonesian Ministers visit YCAB’s learning center for Ramadhan Forum

This event is a beginning of “Safari Ramadhan”, a part of annual agenda of Coordinator Ministry of National Welfare, and YCAB was selected as a foundation which recommended by Coordinator Ministry of National Welfare for thus forum. The event was also attended by Head of YCAB’s board advisor Togar Sianipar, CEO Binus University Bernard Gunawan, and some YCAB’s corporate partners, i.e. Multistrada, Chevron, Bank Mandiri, Unilever, Bank Niaga, ANZ, and media. National Welfare Coordinator Minister Agung Laksono giving the donation of Rp 225 million for the YCAB’s learning center students, received by Founder/CEO YCAB Veronica Colondam, accompanied by the Social Minister H. Salim Al-Jufri Segaf and Women Empowerment and Children Protection Minister Linda Amalia Sari Gumelar. The donation is a part of Children Social Welfare Program by Ministry of Social. YCAB and Ministry of Social have been working together since 2010 in handling street children; there are 8,000 street children in Jakarta. Children Social Welfare Program was targeted to take 1140 kids off the street in 2010. The program has succeeded to decrease the number of street children activities up to 28% whereas 72 % of whom do not return to streets.
