Founder/ CEO YCAB Foundation, Veronica Colondam spoke about sustainable giving on Forbes Indonesia. Veronica introduced YCAB’s microfinance program, and how the program has helped nearly 2,500 youths to attain education.
Veronica establishes social entrepreneurship as a bridge between business and social sectors. As micro-finance provides a sustainable model with a clear impact on the communities, Veronica stressed to justify the program that education attainment has been serving as a per-condition to obtain the loan. Through this conditional loan, not only their income grows 40% a day, but also the beneficiaries’ children are able to pursue education, and have the chance to escape from the poverty cycle.
To deliver greater impact to more than 100,000 beneficiaries in 2015, Veronica is currently initiating a private investment fund, invites five to six corporate investors to support the plan.
