“Menebar Inspirasi” by Readers Digest Indonesia

Menebar Inspirasi (Spread the Inspiration) is a program by Readers Digest Indonesia and YCAB Foundation that hopes to inspire Indonesian children to dream bigger and higher.  The magazine readers – who have a wide ranging professional backgrounds shared with the students about their works and professions.  The students had a chance to learn about different job opportunities and and get inspired about how to reach their dream. The program, supported by more than 50 volunteers in Indonesia was held on 17 July 2012 in three Rumah Belajar (House of Learning and Development) of YCAB Foundation: Duta Buntu, Manggarai, and Plumpang.

Menebar Inspirasi in Duta Buntu, Duri Kepa, West Jakarta

Menebar Inspirasi in Rumah Belajar Duta Buntu was between 08.00 and 11.00 a.m. There were eight volunteers from eight different professions, i.e. Journalist, Architect, Writer, Geologist, Project Management Officer, IT Auditor, Presenter, and Veterinarian.

Menebar Inspirasi in Manggarai, South Jakarta

The activities in Rumah Belajar Manggarai started at 12.30 pm. Before starting the class activities and sharing sessions, the students got an introduction from the Editor in Chief of Readers Digest Indonesia Dalyanta Sembiring. There were four people from different professional background, i.e. CEO of IT Business, Secretary, Dentist, and Radio Announcer.  One of the pictures shows how to use a dental glass in a sharing session with a dentist.

Menebar Inspirasi in Plumpang, North Jakarta

Menebar Inspirasi was also held in Plumpang and it began at 1.00 p.m. There were four professions who were introduced to the students, i.e. Musician, Event Organizer Executive, Private Teacher, and Handmade Entrepreneur. Some of the pictures show the practice sessions about “how to organize an event”, “making handicraft”. The students were also got a chance to sing together with Endah and Rhesa (one of the famous musicians in Indonesia).
