Microsoft and ASEAN Foundation: Fun Chat on IT

On 1 March 2012, Microsoft invited YCAB to the Fun Chat on IT, joint event by Microsoft and ASEAN Foundation that was held at @America, Pacific Place. Fun Chat on IT is the first event of the series of Microsoft NGO Connection Day. Microsoft NGO Connection Day event is about learning how to use ICT to help strengthen the organization so that it can provide better social services in public assistance.
Representative from YCAB Foundation, IT Manager Anton Suwoto talked about “How NGOs Can Utilize the Advances of Technology at an Affordable Cost?” In which NGOs were able to take advantage of current IT technology with low cost technology such as the Cloud computing and Desktop Virtualization.

From ASEAN Foundation, the speaker talked about IT utilization in ASEAN and the ASEAN Foundation, while Microsoft talked about Microsoft’s Citizenship as a form of concern to the community by utilizing ICT, among others, the program PIL (Partners in Learning), CTSP (Community Technology Skills program), CTC (Community Technology Center), Microsoft Innovation Center and the Microsoft Imagine Cup. Microsoft also has NGO Connection Day, ICT Training and Free software for NGOs.
