YCABers, are you one of Instagram users? Apparently there are more than 800 million users, and 500 million of them using Instagram every day! Because of this, Instagram continues to build secure communities around the world, including in Indonesia.
On 27th September 2017, mural #KomenBaik Instagram has officially launched at Tribeca Park, Central Park Mall, Jakarta. This mural is part of Instagram’s commitment to bringing a safe and full of positivity place to the users community in Indonesia. Instagram continues to prioritize commitment to the community, especially with the growing number of its users every day.
Wall of #KomenBaik Instagram is the collaboration of three Indonesian artists, Yessiow (@doodlesyessiow), Diela Maharanie (@dielamaharanie) and Micahela Cherry Virginia Chandra (@mikhaelacherry). Their style collaboration brings out how diverse communities with different voices are able to work and support each other, and also present something meaningful. Similar murals will also presented in New York, Dallas, Tokyo and Brazil.
Launching event of mural #KomenBaik was attended by Amanda Kelso, Director of Community Instagram, along with Ricky Pesik, Deputy Head of Creative Economy Board and Demas Ryan, Program Specialist of Do Something Indonesia. On this occasion, Instagram announces several product tools, programs and initiatives for communities which aims to help them continue to be a place where personal expressions can be presented safely and positively.
“Do Something Indonesia, sheltered by YCAB Foundation, leverages online media to expand our social movements. We are delighted that more and more people, especially young generation, are realizing the role of social media in bringing positive changes in our lives. Platforms such as Instagram provide tremendous opportunities for them to find passion and express themselves. As one of the online platforms for youth social activities, Do Something Indonesia has committed to support Instagram’s efforts to create safe and positive environment for everyone, “said Demas Ryan, Program Specialist of Do Something Indonesia.
In addition, as part of this movement, Instagram particularly presents Kindness stickers, as the work results from artists all around the world, which one of them is Diela Maharani from Indonesia, which carries the positive spirit. Other than that, Instagram also announced the launch of their new tools, including comment controls and anonymous reports for live video.

- Write your good comments or praise
- Tag 2 of your friends or more
- Challenge them to spread kindness with the following sentence:
