Banjarmasin, 28 May 2015 – PT Samsung Electronics Indonesia, as the world market leader of mobile phones and television in Indonesia, once again launched one of its Corporate Citizenship program, Samsung House of Learning, which is the fifth and located in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan. This program first established at Duri Kepa in 2012 – Jakarta, on 2013 in Cikarang – Bekasi, 2014 in Medan – North Sumatra, and in January 2015 in Tanjung Morrawa – South Sulawesi. Working closely with Yayasan Cinta Anak Bangsa (YCAB), the 5th Rumah Belajar Samsung is also partnering with SMK YPT, which run under Banjarmasin National Education Department, improve the vocational curriculum in order to develop a prepared workforce in accordance with the needs of today’s industry.
The 5th Rumah Belajar Samsung at Banjarmasin aims to provide expertise and skills to young people in productive age, between 17-24 years old.The collaboration between formal and non-formal education needs to be sustained mutually, so that learners can be a prepared workforce that is able to compete in the working industry. Besides the expertise and technical skill they will be also given an entrepreneurial skill to encourgae them to have more opportunity outside than to become employee. In cooperation of SMK YPT with Rumah Belajar Samsung, students will be enriched with learning methodology of Rumah Belajar Samsung.
“SMK YPT has had ISO certification which is compatible with Rumah Belajar Samsung’s curriculum, in order to achieve our goal to produce more qualify graduates both in terms of theory and practice and tohave high competitiveness in the working field. We want rumah Belajar Samsung helps young people to improve their quality in their productive age so that they can have a better future, and this is also our way to contribute to lthe decreasing of unemployment rate in Indonesia,”said KangHyun Lee, Vice President of Corporate Business and Corporate Affairs, PT Samsung Electronics Indonesia. “Since its establishment in 2012 – 2014 in cooperation with YCAB and local partners, the two Rumah Belajar Samsung in Jakarta and Cikarang have a total of 732 graduates where it has been noted that 51% succeed in getting jobs in several fields related to the electronics industry and 35% others continuing education to a higher level. We also provide scholarship opportunities for all levels of Diploma One at Rumag Belajar Samsung in Jakarta for the best graduates and open opportunity to join the big family of Samsung in the After sales division Samsung in several areas throughout Indonesia,”Lee continued.
To support and give further support for students learning activities, Samsung also present Samsung Smart Library facility in Rumah Belajar Samsung Banjarmasin. There are 20 units of Samsung Galaxy Tab which can be optimized to extend student’s knowledge and learning with easy access to variety of video tutorials available on the internet. Samsung Smart Library is also open to be used by people around SMK YPT.

In line with the vision to realize the independence of society, especially those in productive age, Banjarmasin National Education Department widely open the door for Samsung and YCAB to develop Rumah Belajar Samsung, by providing support to SMK YPT to co-exist with the Home Learning Samsung Banjarmasin.
