Scott Thompson’s Bali – Jakarta 1,250 KM Charity Run Press Conference in Bali

Hailed from Scotland and based in Jakarta, Scott said that he is doing this simply because he loves helping the Indonesian children, particularly to those in need medical and education assistance. YCAB Foundation Secretary General dr. Iskandar Irwan Hukom representing YCAB Foundation that has been involved in the preparation of Berlari Terus. He said that all the donation from Berlari Terus will be allocated to help the education of the children from underprivileged families, particularly the drop out school kids. He added that the two issues that concern Scott – health and education are the key issues that determines the level of Human Development Index (HDI). His run for charity “Berlari Terus” began on 8 March 2012 from the Bali International Airport Ngurah Rai and will end on 1 April 2012 in Jakarta. In 2010, Scott ran 250 kms in the African Sahara to help children with cancer through Mary’s Cancer Kiddies (MCK). This year, he is running from Bali to Jakarta – 1,250 kilometers (kms) over 30 cities in 5 provinces to raise funds to help Indonesian children. So far Rp 3,304,716,000 has been raised to be donated to two non profit organizations that focuses on helping Indonesian children: Yayasan Cinta Anak Bangsa (YCAB Foundation) dan MCK.
