YCAB Foundation in partnership with PT. Samsung Electronics Indonesia (SEIN) built Rumah Belajar Samsung, an engineering vocational center for the underprivileged youth in Indonesia. The objective of the program is to provide better education to the underprivileged youth, especially for the senior high school/vocational school (SMA/SMK) students, and improve their skills to meet the industry needs. There are two Rumah Belajar Samsung, one of which in Cikarang, West Java and another in Duta Buntu, West Jakarta.
Each Rumah Belajar Samsung will provide technical and customer service skills education to the underprivileged youths, including classes for mobile phones, audio video, IT, home appliances, and factory operator.
The pilot class of mobile phone (the first batch) started in November 2011, located in two temporary classrooms in Cikarang, West Java and Duta Buntu, West Jakarta. Starting August 2012, all the classes for mobile phones, audio video, IT, home appliances, and factory operator began to take place in the new buildings, one of which in Cikarang, West Java and another in Duta Buntu, West Jakarta.
On 25 September 2012, Rumah Belajar Samsung was launched, located in Duta Buntu, West Jakarta. Besides the inauguration, there were also class visit by the media and the graduation ceremony for the first year.

The inauguration was attended by some senior management and representatives of PT. Samsung Electronics Indonesia (SEIN), YCAB Foundation, Ministry of Education and Culture, and Ministry of Social.
As the opening, Managing Director PT. Samsung Electronics Indonesia (SEIN) Mr. Yoo Young Kim expressed his gratitude to YCAB Foundation as their partner for Rumah Belajar Samsung. He strongly believes that the program can open a better future for Indonesian youth.
Representing YCAB, Founder/CEO YCAB Foundation Veronica Colondam explained about the program to the audience. She added that the program would like to reduce the number of unemployment in Indonesia through theory, internship, and job placement or seed capital for entrepreneurship. The program targets to reach 1,000 students per year through two Rumah Belajar Samsung.
Director of Primary Education Ministry of Education and Culture Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Bafadal, M.Pd represented the Minister to give his speech about current condition of education in Indonesia. The Ministry supports the initiative by YCAB Foundation and PT. Samsung Electronics Indonesia, and believes that it will improve the quality of human resources in Indonesia.

Samsung Electronics Indonesia Mr. Yoo Young Kim, cut the ribbon in front of the Rumah Belajar Samsung.
Class Visit with the media

The class visits with the media after the inauguration. There were five classes which were visited by the Managing Director PT. Samsung Electronics Indonesia Mr. Yoo Young Kim and Founder/CEO YCAB Foundation Veronica Colondam. As of 24 September 2012, there have been 240 registered students in Rumah Belajar Samsung. SEIN also equips the teachers with Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and Samsung LED TV in theory classes.
The graduation ceremony

Besides the inauguration of the new Rumah Belajar, there was a graduation ceremony of the first batch students. A total 20 students had internship in Samsung Service Center, and four of which were successfully recruited to work full time in the Samsung Service Center. The choir team from YCAB Foundation performed before the graduation ceremony.
