Unilever Indonesia Foundation, a foundation under PT. Unilever Indonesia, Tbk, in cooperation with the Ministry of Women Empowerment & Child Protection and Yayasan Cinta Anak Bangsa (YCAB Foundation) collaborated in commemoration of the World AIDS Day 2012. The theme was “Protect Women and Girls from HIV/AIDS through the Activities by Jakarta Stop AIDS Ambassador”
Since 2009, Unilever Indonesia Foundation and YCAB Foundation have been working together in the Jakarta Stop AIDS (JSA) program that is a HIV/AIDS campaign program. Besides campaigning for HIV/AIDS prevention, the JSA program also provides Training of Trainers (ToT) for the JSA ambassadors who actively disseminate information about HIV/AIDS in the community. The program also received great support from the government.

As a token of appreciation to JSA ambassadors and all the schools involved in the program, Unilever presented the awards to the three best schools and three best JSA ambassadors. In addition, to commemorate the World’s AIDS Day this year, Unilever and YCAB Foundation also held photo, video, and poster competitions for the youth involved, with the theme “Stop AIDS”. The winner was announced on World’s AIDS Day on 1 December 2012 in Universitas Paramadina.

On 9 December 2012, Unilever and YCAB Foundation also participated in World’s AIDS Day Commemoration organized by Central National AIDS Commission of DKI Jakarta. The event was held in Silang Monas Jakarta and saw participation of 2,000 junior and senior high school students who are the beneficiaries of JSA programs. The students performed a “Dance for Life” as a symbol of action to fight HIV/AIDS in Indonesia.
