Welcome Students to YCAB Rumah Belajar Duri Kepa!

Posted on July 24, 2017

Last Monday (10/7) marks the beginning of a new academic year for students in YCAB Rumah Belajar. Like previous years, before all the learning officially begins, students are required to attend Orientation or Introduction to Rumah Belajar (RB) Duri Kepa. This year 60 new students were enrolled in class Paket A, B, and C.

Orientation lasts for 3 days (July 10-12) and was filled with lots of interesting activities. On the first day, students were introduced to teachers and staff, RB rules and regulations, proper etiquette, and communication. To catch up, new students attended the flag ceremony (Paskibra) and were all neatly lined up.

The orientation this year was complete with teachings like proper etiquette, citizenship (Pancasila, UUD 1945, unity in diversity, and NKRI). In addition, students also received teachings about leading healthy lifestyles. Even though these students had just met, they began to form close bonds with teachers and staff. Let’s get a glimpse of all the fun:

“I feel comfortable going to school in YCAB Rumah Belajar, teachers are nice and good at explaining lessons in class. There’s also a lot of ACs,” said Asri Yulian Astuti, a former middle school student in Tegal and now new student in RB Duri Kepa, while smiling.

YCAB believes that education is the tool to break the poverty cycle and create economic independence. #ExtensionofGoodness
