YCAB Goes Green aims to develop a new green society by sorting out trash according to a category, as well as reducing water usage, electricity, paper usage.

Starting in 2020, YCAB Goes Green strives in contributing to environmental preservation and prevention of global warming by creating an environmentally friendly work environment and shaping the character and behavior of YCAB employees to be more environmentally friendly.

The initiative expanded to YCAB Foundation’s Rumah Belajar from December 15, 2021 – January 8, 2022, where consecutive online training sessions were held by Do Something Indonesia to Rumah Belajar students. Students ranging from PB-2, PB-3, and PC2 (junior high school and high school equivalent) were trained to sort their waste at school and hopefully, at home.

There are many opportunities around the school facility, home, and community for youth in going green and learning how to weigh in a wiser choice in their daily activities. Though this initiative is rather new to these students, the enthusiasm and curiosity throughout the entire program were valued and cherished by the school staff.

Rumah Belajar students searched for recyclable waste and turn them into works of art.

“Rumah Belajar students are mostly curious teenagers who are open to learning new things. In Do Something Indonesia, we believe that by going together, we’re stronger and able to create ripples in what we do. We hope with YCAB Goes Green imbued in Rumah Belajar’s learning activities, we encourage them in giving their own example of responsibility for helping conserve in order to help themselves, others, and their world,” mentioned Neneng Julia from Do Something Indonesia.

We've found many of them useful and powerful to collect insights from various stakeholders of our organization."
