Jakarta, February 26th – 27th, 2016 – YCAB held the 2nd Global Board Meeting at The Pullman hotel Jakarta. This event was attended by YCAB Board Members, Advisors, Young Advisors, and Executives. On the first day, YCAB Board Members participated in a learning journey to Rumah Belajar and microfinance clients. YCAB Board Members observed the facilities at Rumah Belajar Duri Kepa including the clinic, library, computer labs and the english lab. Rumah Belajar Duri Kepa is the largest Rumah Belajar run by YCAB.
Rumah Belajar has basic education programs (Package A,B & C), english courses, computer courses and vocational training programs (Sewing Class, Hair & Beauty Class, Home Appliance and Computer Hardware). Two business labs also run in Duri Kepa, which are Hair & Beauty Salon (Rumah Cantik) and Sewing (Rumah Jahit). YCAB Board Members had the chance to directly interact with the students and teachers in the Rumah Belajar. During the learning journey, YCAB Board Members also met and discussed with microfinance’s clients about the businesses that they run and the linkage between the microfinance program and education.
Within the 2 days, the event shared YCAB achievements, implementation of the 1st Global Board Meeting recommendations, refreshed the 2020 goals and 2016 activities, and the challenges ahead and also a presentation program from Young Advisory Board was given. At the end of the event, they worked on the collaboration matrix between the Board and YCAB Executives to support 2016 activities.
Veronica Colondam, Founder and CEO of YCAB presented YCAB’s 2015 achievements. YCAB has achieved its 2016 target. Thanks to all parties related.
Firza Imam Putra, Chief Operating Officer of YCAB explained about YCAB international programs and some focus countries for 2016.
Arsjad Rasjid, YCAB Board Member presented about YCAB Global Foundation to ensure YCAB perpetuity and sustainability.
Milanny Halim, Chief Financial Officer of YCAB explained about Philanthropic Investment. YCAB has acquired four philanthropic investment programs since 2012. Through philanthropic investment YCAB can offer sustainability as a value added to the CSR program.

Participants had very rich discussions with meaningful insights throughout the meetings. That will be useful for YCAB to continue the journey ahead.
