PT Multistrada Arah Sarana Launches “Tire for Education” Program to Educate Underprivileged and School Dropouts

Jakarta, 9 June 2011 – Producer of the Achilles Radial, Radial Corsa, and Corsa motorcycle PT. Multistrada Arah Sarana, Tbk (MASA) initiated a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program named “Tire for Education” in 2011. MASA would be working alongside Yayasan Cinta Anak Bangsa (YCAB Foundation) to execute the program which will begin in June 2011. The program aims to assist underprivileged and school dropouts in Indonesia in obtaining education through a holistic education program of YCAB Foundation, which consists of vocational skills training for hair and beauty, hospitality, and sewing.
Senior Manager for CSR PT MASA Bachtiar Klagoes stressed that the collaboration with YCAB Foundation was developed because YCAB Foundation is specializes in the area of youth development through education, entrepreneurship, and economic empowerment program. In addition, Head of Global Marketing & Business Development PT. Multistrada Arah Sarana, Tbk Edward Mamahit said: “Best known for hosting major automotive events i.e. Drift Achilles Drift Battle in Indonesia and Achilles Formula Drift Asian Series in Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, and Malaysia, we are also launching a CSR program to underline our concern in the field of education. In addition, we collaborate with YCAB Foundation due to our shared vision to improve the quality of education in Indonesia.”
On the same day, MASA and YCAB Foundation also held the Angel of Change Night – a charity night program – at Wisma Achilles. “Angel of Change is a campaign launched by YCAB in 2009, and aims to inspire individuals and companies in Indonesia to invest in the education of Indonesian children. We believe that we can break the poverty cycle and develop the nation by providing access to education for underprivileged and school dropouts in Indonesia,” said Founder/CEO YCAB Foundation Veronica Colondam.
