The “Angel of Change Run” initiative in Sentul Circuit by YCAB Foundation and PT. Multistrada Arah Sarana Raised Rp 1.2 Billion for Educatio

Jakarta, 2 September 2012 – Today, Sentul International Circuit becoming a location of charity event “Angel of Change Run”, organized by Yayasan Cinta Anak Bangsa (YCAB Foundation) and PT. Multistrada Arah Sarana, Tbk (MASA). More than thousands people are participating in the event which supported by several sponsors, media, and some runners community, including some of Achilles’ partners, Indofood, Blue Bird, Samsung, Indonesian Athletics Association (PASI), Indo Runners, ONP Runners from Berlari untuk Berbagi, and The ASIKS.
Angel of Change is a campaign program launched by YCAB Foundation in 2009, which aim to inspire corporates and individuals to invest for Indonesian education. YCAB Foundation has always worked with Achilles for its annual Angel of Change charity event to raised funds for helping underprivileged and drop-out kids back to school. This year, Angel of Change brings a new initiative, running competition in the circuit race for helping underprivileged and drop-out kids back to school. The charity event is also precede the Achilles Motorsport Festival (AMF) Series II which scheduled to begin after the Angel of Change Run ceremony. The participants can choose two categories, i.e. beginner (1 lap = 4 kilometers), or advance (3 laps = 12 kilometers).
Aside from PT. MASA, YCAB Foundation has also worked with Indonesian Athletics Association (PAS) to create a running competition which comforming to national athletics standard. Representing PASI, Chairman of the Regional Committee PASI Teguh Anantawikrama says that they have mobilized 50 marshalls to guards the judgment process for the winners, which divided into four categories, i.e.: 1 lap (male), 1 lap (female), 3 laps (male), 3 laps (female).
Founder/CEO YCAB Foundation Veronica Colondam states in her opening speech before the winners announcement: “For the last two years, we always did a Gala Dinner for Angel of Change annual charity event, in which we worked with Achilles and YCAB Foundation’s partners, to raised funds for our education programs. This year, we would like to expand our event to reach more people by held this Angel of Change Run which opens to public. We hope this event can inspires a lot of people to become our ‘Angel of Change’ to give their contributions for the improvement of Indonesian education, especially for the underprivileged and drop-out school kids.”
Veronica added that they thanks all parties who supports the event. Up to now, the funds raised from Angel of Change Run have reached Rp 1.2 billion. Veronica says that all donations will allocated to support a-year education program for 476 underprivileged and drop-out school kids in house of learning (Rumah Belajar) YCAB Foundatin which currently exists in nine provinces in Indonesia.
Meanwhile, the President Director PT. Multistrada Arah Sarana, Tbk Pieter Tanuri says that Achilles Motorsport Festival 2012 Series II was born as a form of PT. MASA’s concern to the exponent growth of automotive industry in Indonesia. He added that Achilles back to prove its excellence as an international quality tire, which competent to support the driver’s performance, both for daily condition and extrem condition such as in the racing world.
“To continue the successful of AMF Series I in the last June, AMF Series II is divided into four categories; Achilles Super GT, Indonesia Retro Race, Jakarta Ban Achilles Mercedes Series, and Achilles Superchamp Duel. This event is also livened up with a charity running competition ‘Angel Of Change Run’ for the education of underprivileged and drop-ot school kids in Indonesia”, he closed.
