The Thinnest Tablet Donates Auction Fund for YCAB

Samsung Donates Rp 81 Million from Auction to YCAB Foundation

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Jakarta, 16 May 2011 – Yayasan Cinta Anak Bangsa (YCAB Foundation) is a recent recipient of aid from PT Samsung Electronics Indonesia on Friday (05/13). An auction of the newest Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet brought in proceedings worth Rp 81 million. The thinnest tablet in the world was purchased by one of the guests attending the gala dinner and auction held at the Ritz Carlton, South Jakarta.

“Through this launching of Galaxy Tab 10.1, Samsung would like to give contribution to Indonesia as the funds generated from the auction will be donated to YCAB Foundation; symbolizing our concern for the Indonesian youth” said Managing Director of PT Samsung Electronics Indonesia Mr. Yoo Young Kim.

YCAB Foundation has focus in youth development through three areas of concentration: healthy lifestyle promotion, education provision and economic empowerment. “It is an honor to be the only foundation entrusted with the donation from the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 auction. The donation will be allocated to our youth development programs to help underprivileged children develop their potential through our education program in Rumah Belajar (House of Learning and Development),” said Founder/CEO YCAB Foundation Veronica Colondam during the event that was also attended by Samsung’s corporate partners, Telkomsel and BCA.

The donation which given to YCAB Foundation is one of the Samsung’s comitments to give contribution to Indonesian youths. “We hope this momentum will serve as a milestone, marking a  partnership between YCAB Fopundation and Samsung to improve the quality of lives of underprivileged children in Indonesia,” said Veronica.
