Yayasan Cinta Anak Bangsa (YCAB Foundation) is ranked #29 in the world TOP 200 SGO (Social Good Organizations) published by NGO Advisor on January 24, 2021. In this year YCAB has successfully moved up three ranks from #32 in 2020 and is the only non-profit organization from Indonesia on this list. Since 2013, YCAB has entered the list of the best NGO in the world, released by NGO Advisor, an independent media organization, based in Geneva, Switzerland. NGO Advisor regularly publish a global ranking of NGO all over the world annually.
According to NGO Advisor, the SGO chosen represent the ‘Ivy League’ of the social good sphere in terms of their people-centered governance and holistic innovation and impact. These SGOs embody and carry out the very enriching and diverse criteria for what results in ‘social profit’ (www.ngoadvisor.net). These evaluation criteria are based on three pillars, impact, innovation, and governance. Impact measures the achievements and activities carried out by the SGO which brings changes to the lives of beneficiaries. Innovation is the organization’s ability to overcome and mitigate obstacles in creative ways. Governance relates to organization’s implementation of its positive mission to all employees, stakeholder and management.
Since its establishment in 1999, YCAB has believed that social organizations must be able to become independent in order to empower the beneficiaries in particular youth and mothers of ultra-micro entrepreneurs. YCAB continues to strengthen its position to become a social enterprise by investing in several other social businesses that are incorporated as a portfolio companies under YCAB Ventures. The shared services strategy with its business units and creating a revolving fund has enabled YCAB to support the sustainability of various programs to carry out the social mission.
Veronica Colondam, CEO and Founder of YCAB Foundation, said “I am thrilled and thankful for the trust from everyone who have stood behind YCAB all these years. This is all the fruit of Ora et Labora; working hard, praying hard, and surely guided and guarded by our core values iSERVE – the spirit to continue to serve with love. Thank you, to NGO Advisor, for the recognition. It’s certainly setting up the new year with much optimism so we can carry on with our good work for the sake of others who are in need”.
YCAB is proud to be included in the list of the best SGO/NGO in the world with BRAC and the Skoll Foundation, both of whom are the pioneers driving the world of social enterprise.
