Hanie’s Reflection: Rumah Belajar is really a ‘home’

Posted on April 4, 2013

In commemorating Woman’s Day 2013, ANZ employee Hanie shares her skills in making jewelries to students at Rumah Belajar Dorkas, WTC Mangga Dua. Here’s the story told from her eyes.

ANZ employee Hanie volunteers to teach students at Rumah Belajar Dorkas on how to make jewelries from beads.

“Thank you YCAB Foundation for the opportunity that has been given to me to know and share a little bit of my life with friends at Rumah Belajar. I am very glad to see an enthusiastic response from the teachers and students.

“For me, Rumah Belajar is really a ‘home’ to learn a lot of things, not only to learn about education or vocational studies, but also to learn about life – about love and passion that are given from the teachers and the management team of Rumah Belajar to the children. Furthermore, it’s also about how the students can keep on having the will to further their education and the joy even though they are faced with lives that may not be as fortunate as other children.

“I am very happy if at another time I can meet them again or join YCAB in another volunteering program.”
