Women Resilience Program, initiated in July 2020 by HSBC Indonesia in collaboration with YCAB Foundation has begun its phase 2 training program.
Since the phase 2 training program, which started February of this year, we have successfully reached out to 26 ultra-micro women entrepreneurs. All training was delivered online and included 3 class sessions on sewing and 1 class session on entrepreneurship. The first session taught women entrepreneurs how to sew hijab masks; the second on how to make various loungewear using batik; the third on how to make culottes; and lastly, on the fourth, on how to start small businesses selling garments.
Overall, the Women Resiliency Program has created tremendous positive impact, including 83% of participants reporting an increase in income and all giving testimonies on the significant improvement of their sewing skills. To date, Women Resiliency Program has reached out to more than 400 ultra-micro women entrepreneurs and indirectly impacted to more than 1600 beneficiaries.
Special thanks to HSBC Indonesia for the great efforts to initiate the program. We wish for this program continued success in the future.
