Her name is Mrs. Uning, this hardworking woman is a mother of 3 children. As we get to know her, she told us the story about her business
Mrs. Uning has an ornamental flower business, i.e. dried flowers which she started some 30 years ago. Around the ‘80s, she already had a shop in Pasar Anyar, near Agung Mosque in Jakarta. But the business closed due to a fire incident and she did not have funds or insurance to rebuild the business.
A new hope emerged when Mrs. Uning accepted a loan from YCAB cooperative. Mrs. Uning got a Rp. 1,500,000 capital loan from YCAB cooperative which she divided into two parts, Rp. 1,000,000 to rebuild her ornamental flower business, and the other 500,000 to sell fried rice. Now Mrs. Uning, who is a member of YCAB cooperative has received four loans from YCAB Cooperative.
Thanks to the funds, Mrs. Uning could add different kinds and varieties of flowers to her creations. Every week Mrs. Uning could produce about 40 flowers which are sold for Rp. 20,000 – 50,000 at Bogor Botanical Garden every week. In one month, Mrs. Uning could gain a net profit of Rp. 500,000 which she could save. As her business grows, the total capital for her business reaches up to Rp. 10,000,000
Besides having an ornamental flower business, Mrs. Uning also sell fried rice every morning. Through this business Mrs. Uning gained about Rp. 120,000 – Rp. 200,000 in revenue. Daily, she goes out at 6 AM and comes home at 9 AM.
Her hope is that she can pay for the children’s school fees. In addition, she hopes that the Learning Center in Bogor will be built so the people in the area could get education at an affordable cost.
